| Mix a smelly magic potion, borrow an extra eye, find a rainbow on the ground, and listen to nature’s symphony. Earthwalks encourage children to use sight, smell, touch, and hearing while exploring the natural environment. The children are actively involved throughout the walk. Colours, patterns, shapes, sounds, and smells are investigated sensitively, making children more aware of their environment, their responsibility towards it, and their place within it.
It is difficult to describe an Earthwalk; best to book and try one, or ask if it is possible to include a short Earthwalk activity in your Programme of Study, or even devote half a day to one. They are refreshing and enjoyable for both children and teachers, allowing time to stroll and appreciate the natural environment.
