| This activity has the option of focussing on the nearby sand quarry or the factory. The morning can be spent looking at either of these two industries, and then having visited and discussed the environmental impact these two activities have on the area, we spend the afternoon in role play.
The children work in groups taking the various roles of factory managers, residents in the village, teachers at the Centre, wildlife experts or walkers amongst others, and argue for and against an imaginary expansion of the quarry or factory.
This activity has been designed for years 5 and 6 and is a full day activity.
