Supervision
Once you arrive on site, apart from any intervention you feel is necessary with regards to discipline or the level of instruction, the centre staff will take charge of your class leaving you free to observe and learn alongside the children. However please note that dinner time supervision is your responsibility.

Helpers
A good helper is worth their weight in gold, and we advocate the more the merrier! Enthusiastic, carefully chosen helpers allow us to organise children into smaller working groups, which ensures children are kept on task, thoroughly supervised and allows them to explore a wider area. Doncaster Council guidelines specify at Key Stage 1 a minimum of 2 helpers per 12 children, and 1 more for every 8 after, and at Key Stage 2 a minimum of 2 helpers per 20 children and 1 more for every 12 after. We would always suggest you bring as many as you can; 1 adult to every 4 or 5 children at Key Stage 1, and 1 adult to every 7 or 8 children at Key Stage 2 would be the ideal. Please note that Centre staff cannot be included in the ratios as they are in charge of the overall activity.

Clothing
Despite the unpredictable British weather we always try to work outside so please ensure that children are adequately dressed for the weather. Wellies are not essential but good sturdy trainers or walking boots with warm socks are a must in the winter. In the summer we do not advise sandals or flip flops, trainers again are best! Extra layers on cold/wet days are advisable, as are hats and sun cream on hot sunny days!

Equipment
We provide all of the equipment required for our activities (unless specified, e.g. sand play days), so all that you need to bring is yourselves, a packed lunch and a smile!
