Ideas for activities which can be included in your visit
| |
|
1, 2, 3, 4, 5… How many legs has that animal got? When studying minibeasts count their legs, count how many of each animal we found, count the number of places we found them, count how many colours we spot in the nature reserve... |
 |
Fauna and Flora... Visit two habitats and compare the numbers and types of animals and/or plants we find. We could compare two different types of woodland, a pond or a heathland… it’s up to you! Results will be tallied, collated and made into graphs in our ICT suite. |
|
Measurement Madness… Measure the height and girth of various trees, or measure how fast the River Idle flows. There are many chances to collect measurements which can be recorded, averaged, put into tables, made into graphs |

Shape & Symmetry
Look for shapes and patterns in nature, spot as many shapes as possible, in leaves, flowers, seeds, berries...
Look for symmetry; collect half a leaf and draw the rest. | |
